Read and Comply with Weapons Policy.
If a legal weapon is to be used for educational purposes on school grounds, the following procedures must be followed.
- A request must be made in advance of the day the weapon is to be brought to school.
- A parental consent form will be issued stipulating the conditions under which the weapon may be brought to school.
- The signed parental consent form must be reviewed by the principal and the student with formal permission given at this time.
- The weapon must be legally transported.
- The weapon must be registered and stored in the school office (vault).
- There shall be no magazines or clips, no ammunition including arrows, no attached quivers.
- The weapon must remain in the office until it is time to use it for the approved activity and it must then be returned to the office immediately after its agreed upon use.
- The weapon will be inspected by a police officer to ensure safety.
- All unauthorized weapons will be confiscated and the policy will be enforced.
A faculty meeting will be scheduled to in-service staff on appropriate ways to deal with weapons related activities.
