The Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department oversees the development and implementation of standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices, Multilevel Systems of Support, as well as staff professional learning. Instruction and learning experiences ensure students are college, career and community ready. In addition, technology is an integral part of the curriculum, and we maintain a 1:1 computer to student ratio. The District follows a Curriculum Development & Renewal Process to evaluate current resources and practices and establish rigorous expectations of proficiency for students at each grade level in order to provide a guaranteed and viable curriculum in all courses. Programs are developed to meet the needs of individual students within the classroom and are aligned with State of Wisconsin adopted academic standards. Little Chute Area School District is a Professional Learning Community, which guides our teaching and learning practices through these four questions:
- What is it we expect our students to learn? (Standards and Learning Targets)
- How will we know when students have learned it? (Formative and Summative Assessments)
- How will we respond when they don't learn? (Differentiated Instruction & Intervention)
- How will we respond when they already know it? (Differentiated Instruction & Enrichment)
