Xello is the software tool our district uses to support Academic and Career Planning in grades 5-12. Students will utilize this software to meet grade-level ACP outcomes that include exploring different career pathways, enhancing knowledge of life and career skills, becoming self aware of interests, plan and schedule coursework, and determine the next steps after high school.

Wisconsin Labor Market Information Guide

Students trying to decide on their future career have a daunting task. How can they narrow career options in a career landscape that is constantly shifting? Labor market information (LMI) can help connect career interests to jobs that will have future openings.

Labor Market Information (LMI)

The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) helps youth, job seekers and employers make informed employment decisions through real-time LMI, including statistics, projections and trends on employment, occupations, labor supply and demand, earnings, population and demographics.

My Future

My Future helps young adults plan their next steps in life by bringing together the most recently available information about colleges, careers and military service opportunities from the U.S. Departments of Commerce, Defense, Education and Labor.

Elementary School is a crucial time for developing career awareness and instilling a culture of self-empowerment. From an early age, students can begin profiling their strengths, interests, and values. The goal at this level is to expose students to a variety of careers and to begin exploration of areas of interest related to future career choices.

Middle School is a time for students to learn about themselves and the world of work, identifying and exploring potentially satisfying occupations, and to start to develop a strategy to realize your career goals. The goal at this level is to help students explore a variety of careers in a variety of settings. This may include work-based learning experiences and career research.

High School is a time for students to hone in on their career goals, creating an individualized career plan, selecting courses that support their career goals and, in many cases, gaining work-based learning experiences. In addition, an emphasis will be placed on developing and refining the skills and behaviors needed to obtain and retain employment.
