NOTE TO OUR FAMILIES: If LCASD opts not to change school schedules or close schools due to inclement weather, parents have the right to keep their child(ren) home if they feel that it is in the child's best interest. We ask that parents call the school to inform staff of the child's absence.
If weather or other emergency conditions dictate that there will be a 2-hour delay or no school, the decision is made by 6:00 a.m. Parents with students in school receive an email and direct call from our auto-call system. The District will also post a banner on our website and send a Facebook post for any school delays or closings.
Our school's weather closure decisions involve staying updated on weather briefings through the National Weather Center, collaborating with Fox Valley districts, and reviewing the services and conditions that help us ensure the safety of all students. If weather permits, after-school Varsity sports may be held. Watch for updates on conditions and facility cleanup.
As a reminder: Each year, parents should review their Infinite Campus Contact Preferences to ensure they receive the above mentioned notifications for closures.
Announcements are also sent to local T.V. and radio stations. Please tune in to local stations (Fox 11, WBAY, WHBY, WIXX) rather than call the school. If other school events, such as concerts or sporting events are also canceled because of weather or an emergency, they are typically communicated through the above communication methods as well.
