The Little Chute Area School District offers special education services to qualifying 3 to 5-year-olds. Children qualify when they are identified by the school district as having a disability. If you have a concern about your child’s development:
- Talk to your child's caregiver, doctor, or teacher
- Request and Ages and Stages- 3 Screening Questionnaire from Little Chute Elementary School
- Complete the screener with your child and return it to school, attention Heidi Thyssen
- Discuss results with the staff member that follows up with you via phone or email
The Early Childhood Team of the Little Chute School District provides a developmental screening as a service to the parents of your children who live within the school district boundaries and do not already attend the elementary school. The developmental screening gauges a child’s overall development and determines if a child exhibits potential delays that may require further exploration before attending 4K or kindergarten. Please note that if you have concerns about your child’s development outside of this screening window, you may contact the district's Early Childhood team at any time. Early Childhood Services
Special Education teachers can provide:
- Special education services in a variety of school or community settings, including regular education classrooms, special education classrooms, preschools, child care sites, and 4-year-old kindergarten classrooms
- Home visits to support families of children with disabilities regarding home and community behaviors, routines, and independence skills
- Consultation services to community-based child care providers or early learning program staff
