Educational Background and Teaching Philosophy
I am certified to teach Earth Science, Biology, and Chemistry. In addition, I am certified in three Project Lead the Way-Biomedical Sciences Courses: Principles of Biomedical Sciences, Human Body Systems, and Medical Interventions. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!) and my graduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

 

My classroom pedagogy focuses on engaging students with scientific content via inquiry-based curriculum. In other words, in my classroom, students analyze scientific phenomena and develop explanations for the phenomena. In addition, I have developed several Blended (online and classroom based) science courses to promote individualized student learning environments. The Project Lead the Way coursework I teach encourages students to learn realistic, rigorous, and relevant content aligned to future aspirations in the Heath Services pathway.
