4K Program

Welcome to 4K!  

We are so excited for your child to begin their school journey with us! The Little Chute 4K Program is a welcoming environment dedicated to developing the whole child. Our talented and caring staff provide children with opportunities to make choices, explore, investigate, create and socialize in order to help guide children as they learn about the world. 

We provide an early introduction to reading, writing, and math with a focus on social and emotional skills in order for children to solve problems independently and communicate with one another. Our overall goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn and practice the skills of life-long learning.

Our 4K is a half-day program. The morning class runs from 8:00 am to 10:40 am and the afternoon class runs from 12:20 pm to 2:55 pm.

Milestones matter!  How your child plays, learns, speaks, acts and moves offers important clues about his or her development.  Will your child be 4 by September 1, 2025, and you’re wondering if they are ready for 4K?  Check out Milestones Matter to see if your child has reached the listed milestones by age 4.  If your child hasn’t reached these milestones and/or you have concerns, please reach out to Little Chute Elementary School to find out about child development screenings available for your child.  

The Little Chute Area School District is required to maintain census information for all residents, birth through age 18, who live within our district's boundaries. This information is used for projecting future enrollment and for communicating about district programs and registration. Please complete our Census with your family's information. 

4K Eligibility

• Your child is required to be four years of age on or before September 1st of the year the child will enter school.
• Your child must be a resident of the Little Chute Area School District OR your child must be approved to attend the Little Chute Area School District under Wisconsin Open Enrollment. See below for more information.

4K Enrollment Process

• Online enrollment begins on February 3, 2025.
• Information regarding enrollment can be found on our Registration & Enrollment Page.
• Registration is not complete until the child's birth certificate and proof of residency are verified by elementary school office staff or district office staff.

Open Enrollment

If a parent completes a Wisconsin Open Enrollment application from the Department of Public Instruction, the parent is allowed to complete the 4K enrollment process.

Please note:  The Little Chute Area School Board approves Wisconsin Open enrollment requests.  If the LCASD denies an open enrollment request, enrollment materials will be destroyed.  If you have any questions about open enrollment in the Little Chute Area School District, please contact the District Registrar at 920-788-7605 or Email.
