Real World Exposure and Relevance
LCCPA can offer you a thorough, “real life” education within the context of the fields of manufacturing and health care. A common question asked by high school students is, “When am I ever going to use this?” You won’t have to ask that question at LCCPA. Our curriculum is designed to develop the skills that employers and leaders in all aspects of industry identify as being crucial for success in the 21st century. We know our curriculum is relevant because we have Presidents, CEO’s, and Human Resource personnel from real life companies helping us design it!
Learning Happens Anytime, Anywhere
While LCCPA will initially be located on site at Little Chute High School, the educational opportunities that we provide extend well beyond the walls of LCHS. You will take classes in a normal high school setting, just like a typical high school student. However, you will also have the opportunity to learn from experts in the fields of manufacturing and health services as you visit one of our many industry partners, participate in frequent job shadow opportunities, and even work part time as a component of your high school education. Not only will you have the opportunity to learn from people in the real world, but you will also be able to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by our post-secondary education partners: Fox Valley Technical College and UW Fox Valley. We expect all of our students to earn a certificate from FVTC or college credits from UW Fox before leaving high school!
Different Ways to Learn
One of the most exciting opportunities that we offer at LCCPA is the ability to experience a wide variety of ways to learn. Sometimes you will be required to learn in a very traditional classroom setting. However, you will also experience the excitement of project based learning at LCCPA. By working on extended projects you will have the opportunity to learn and practice a wide variety of 21st Century Skills: Creativity and Innovation, Project Management, Team Dynamics, Accountability, Adaptability, Flexibility, and Self-Direction to name a few. You will also have the opportunity to experience “blended learning”, where some of your coursework is done in a web based environment and other aspects are completed under the guidance of an instructor. Your experience at LCCPA will prepare you to handle any learning environment that you may face when you move into your post-secondary options!
On-Demand Technology
Every student at LCCPA will have their own Chromebook, and that computer will soon become your best friend. We will teach you how to use technology appropriately as a learning and productivity tool. From organizing your daily schedule and long term projects using Google Drive and Google Calendar, to completing your independent math curriculum using the web-based ALEKS program, to completing design projects on Autodesk Inventor, technology will be part of virtually everything that you do at LCCPA!
As you can see, there are many exciting reasons for you to attend Little Chute Career Pathways Academy. The only thing that you need to bring with you is a desire to work hard and learn. If you combine those two personal characteristics with the unique learning environment that we are developing, the sky is the limit!
