To create and sustain a world-class leadership development program that has a significant impact on student-athletes as students, athletes, people, and leaders; and ultimately a strong, positive impact on the success and satisfaction of a team, school, and community.

The program has two levels: Emerging and Veteran.
Emerging leaders are self-selected student-athletes who wish to further their leadership of self. We focus on being leaders by example through education and exploration of commitment, confidence, composure, and character.
Veteran leaders are coach-selected after completing the Emerging program. Teachers will also evaluate student-athletes on their readiness for the Veteran program. At this level we focus on being vocal leaders through encouragement and enforcement.
There is an application process for entrance into the LDLA. The curriculum was established by Jeff Janssen and the Janssen Sports Leadership Center and adopted by the Little Chute Area School District.
