LCHS Special Education Policy, Goals and Vision
Special Education Policy
The school board recognizes its responsibility to provide a free and appropriate public education to children with disabilities as identified in state and federal statutes. The Board shall provide a broad spectrum of programs and services based on the child's individual needs. The Board ensures that supportive and related services to assist an individual child to benefit from special education programming will be available.
Full Education Opportunity Goal
It is the goal of the Little Chute Area School District (LCASD) to provide full educational opportunities to all children with disabilities who reside within the LCASD. The LCASD has available to all its children with disabilities the variety of educational programs and services available to its non-disabled children, including art, music, vocational education, family and consumer education, or any other program or activity offered to non-disabled children. The LCASD provides nonacademic and extracurricular services and activities that afford children with disabilities an equal opportunity to participate.
Transition Vision Statement
The Little Chute Area School District's vision for the transition of students with disabilities is that the student will exit secondary education to live, work, recreate, and pursue lifelong education and training in the community alongside non-disabled peers.
