Welcome to the Title One home page for the Little Chute Area School District. Title One reading services are offered at Little Chute Elementary School, Little Chute Intermediate School, and St. John's School for students in kindergarten through grade five. Below are the Title One Reading Teachers who provide support to students and their families:
Purpose
The purpose of the Title One program is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. Click here for more information.
Mission
The mission of the Title One program for the Little Chute Area School District is to enable all children to meet high academic standards, to promote active involvement by parents in the child's education, to increase the expertise of staff through staff development opportunities, and to instill in students a life-long love of reading.
Who can participate in Title 1 instruction?
Any student in kindergarten through grade five who is in need of supplemental reading services is a potential candidate. Many sources of data, including teacher referrals, reading benchmark data, MAP data, PALS testing, and other early reading assessments at younger grades are among those currently utilized to identify potential students. Parents may also request an assessment to determine eligibility for their child. Students are assessed by the Title One staff to determine eligilibity.
If you would like further information about the Title 1 program and how it serves children, parents, and families, please contact Jim Neubert or Mary Smaby.
